GAS Attack.

Les Paul Fanatic

Okay I know that tons of people have asked about GAS and how to solve it, but this is one case of "the syndrome" that won't go away. Even with having just got an ESP FX260SM. Which came with a very heavy price tag. It seems no matter what I can't get rid of my GAS.

you have a really nice *family* there! default_eusa_wall.gif

BTW, my R9 has exactly same color of the second Les Paul (left to right,

between silver and cherry) in your picture; how do you call that one?

Mine officially is a faded tobacco but I like to think to it as a bourbon;

am I right?

...hm... another Tim pic thread eh? The best looking custom is Tim's Silverburst custom IMO.

I'll say it again... you are not helping Tim, in fact, you are becoming part of the problem... (GAS building up... )

Doesn't every thread eventually become Tim's picture threads? O:)

Cheers, I love Mistress.

Btw...G.A.S. problems, I'm not here to help... O:)

Tim's pictures in this thread' date=' particularly the SG, gave me GAS so bad that I sharted.[/quote']

G.A.S. hasn't hit me that hard yet...I hope I'm not in public when it does....

SG Standard bodies are two pieces of wood, right?

I love the top piece...gives ME wood every time I look at it.

Really wish the bottom piece had the same pattern.

(In the spirit of this unforeseen Tim's picture thread)

The only cure for GAS ive found over the years is a better job and higher paychecks. after a while you jut don't need anything else.eusa_whistle.gif

...or you go after the vintage stuff. Then you've really got problems...when each guitar you want is a minimum $20,000.

geyser' date=' it's a BourbonBurst.

Faded Tobacco is much darker around the edges...black almost.

Let's see a picture of it.[/quote']

Sorry for the delay, but it's hard to get the right pictures to show the real

colour of this beauty; so, what do you think, faded tobacco, bourbon

or *something* in the middle?

BTW, I'd like to take this chance to introduce you my other baby,

my Jimmy Page Custom Authentic, I'm very proud of it:

Wow those are both killer!

I love the color and Burst pattern on the Page!

I've seen guitars that look like Brock/Bourbon that were called Darkburst... whatever that is.

Yours looks like the Darkbursts I've seen... w/ the very dark, almost black edges.

Have you tried 1-800-Gibson w/ the serial #? They should know the exact color. Let us know.

Either way, very nice lookers.

darkburst is an umbrella term for all bourbonbursts, tobacco bursts, etc. darkburst finishes were used to hide imperfections on the maple top.

thanks everybody for the appreciation!

I didn't try to call Gibson, but I can tell you I have the original tag telling this is a LPR9FTNH1,

that means faded tobacco, but every FT I saw looks like the one in the link posted by Tim;

mine is really much on (dark) red side, maybe not a real *bourbon* bur very close I guess;

anyway, that's beautiful, isn't it? I can also tell you it was produced on 2004,

the weight is *just* 4 Kg - about 8,8 lbs - and plays ... well, you know how!

and the Page (guess what?) is even better, lighter that the R9, with a neck that's a joy to play

and a wonderful tone ... it was really expensive for me (my wife was about to kill me for that...),

but I'm really glad I got it, it worths every penny I paid for it...

hey, do you like my new avatar? if you're wondering what is it,

that's my Page reflected in my R9 neck burstbucker... isn't it cool?

hmmm, my wife still not sure about it...=D>

thanks once more for your feedback!

G.
