autodex
Hello, New player here, I currently have Dr Blues 11's on my ES 335 and love the tone but its a little hard for me to play. If I move down to 10's how much loss in tone can I expect? Dont want to go through the hassle of another setup if this is not a good idea. i know ease of play is number 1 but I can always grin and bear it bc I love the 11's tone. Thanks

Thanks I put Ernie Ball 10's on my Es-339 and the tone is beautiful. Playability is fantastic with the factory setup. Dave
Versatile
Rotosound or Ernie Ball 10's are a popular choice for the 335 No guarantee the set-up won't change For me the 'tone with 10's' is excellent V
vincentw
Go with .010s. I like Britewires, but I think many many notable blues players use light gauge strings. The heavy gauge equals better tone is a myth (imo) for electrics.
