Biggest thing is that you're gonna want to make sure you get the pickguard that matches your exact model of Explorer (the 'standard' Explorer is referred to as the "'76 Explorer" most of the time) otherwise the screw holes might not match up perfect (though that's not a big deal if you don't care about drilling some holes that won't be visible anyway).
