Epiphone Hummingbird

Dear Gibson Acoustic guys,

I bought a Epiphone Humminbird during the summer (so I had the guitar for about half a year) And the guitar seems to get out of tune quickly. Is it the guitar or is it the type of string that's causing the problem? And how can i solve the problem? Can I just change the tuning pegs?

All new strings will go out of whack for a bit as they stretch.

If you are talking about strings that have been on the guitar for a bit, assuming the tuners are OK, it can be the result of something as simple as the strings binding in the nut or the saddle or the strings being improperly wound on the tuning post. Before you start swapping out tuners, you might bring the guitar by your local purveyor of musical goodies and have them string it up for you and see how it is doing in a few days after the strings have broken in.

Can be lots of things. Tuners, nut, abusive playing :-). Also, where do you store the guitar? In a place with varying temperature and humidity?

@ e minor, i didn't really see the epiphone acoustic section until later on.

@zombywolf, thanks for the suggestion

@gijs, i usually leave my guitar out on a stand in my room.

And what about temp and humidity in that room? Constant or not?

I have also heard from some people that their guitars get out of tune quickly when left on a stand because the neck is pushed a bit because of the angle. But to me that sounds a bit odd I must say.

I still reckon the tuners might be a good candidate. Maybe they need to be tightened?
