Hthomas
http://www.gbase.com/gear/gibson-les-paul-custom-1989-black It doesn't look to be a fake but I can't tell. any help would be great!
LSAR
I don't know for sure, but I don't think the trc should be on top of part of the headstock inlay...

IceTr3
well if possible try ask for more pictures of the neck to headstock (side view) and see how much the head is angled (gibsons are angled like 30 degrees or so) and also check to see if the wiring is neat not sloppy. otherwise the truss rod is gibson and the body looks like it
gearhead
Looks real to me also. I'd try to get a shot of the rear of the headstock and a straighter one of the front. But I'd say you're safe on it.

A pic of the back of the headstock may not help since the guitar is painted black and it might be difficult to look at the grain. Looks good to me though. Very clean for a 1989. Yeah well I'm not a big techie guy on that but 30 degrees did sound way off to me
BigKahune
I don't know for sure, but I don't think the trc should be on top of part of the headstock inlay... The "touching" doesn't bother me, but I have a similar concern. The angle of that headstock pic makes it hard to tell - the top TRC screw should be just a smidge below the line between the high and low E-string tuning posts. It's close, but looks okay to me. duane v
Concerning my 80 LPC, the TRC touches the headstock inlay
Thundergod
I think it's real. Everything looks right but the headstock inlay, but they really tend to vary a lot from one guitar to the next.
SixxstringKing
Here's the headstock on my '77 LPC. The touching probably depends on the year(s) the guitar was/is made.
bluesguitar65
I don't know for sure, but I don't think the trc should be on top of part of the headstock inlay... They vary. I have two Les Paul Customs, 73' and 06'. Look at the TRC location. I think in some years the inlays were bigger. My 73' has a bigger headstock enlay than my 2006. 1973 By bluesguitar65 at 2010-09-14 2006 By bluesguitar65 at 2010-09-

Andre S
On a slightly unrelated topic, does anyone find that the gold kluson tuners, the ones with the creme tips look better with the black beauties compared to the gold grovers?
Gear up with Gibson
Uhm…I looked much at the headstock and it looks quite fake to me…It's the wrong angle on the Gibson logo and it looks like the trussrod-cover is to close to the nut… Well I don't know for sure but it looks fake to me.
