SS amps tend to come with more builtin effects like switchable OD, chorus, delay and reverb, where Tube amps are usually single channel with reverb. A 50 watt tube amp with 2X12's will usually be as loud a a 100 watt SS with 2X12's. 2X12 combos are heavy, easier to move a head with a separate cabinet. Just some thoughts.
