Murph
I'm nearly in the market for a new watch, was looking at a Luminox Navy Seal watch, but there are a lot of bad reviews for them. I'm now intrigued by the Citizen Eco-Drive Divers. I notice a lot of young people don't wear watches anymore, the cellphone generation. This doesn't work for me, I NEED a watch. What's your poison, hands or digital?
MrNylon
Hands. I like the Citizen Eco-Drive watches myself. They keep good time and no batteries.

surfpup
Hands for me. I like a good, old-fashioned stainless steel waterproof watch. My wife got me this Del Mar last year for Christmas. They are only about $200 at marine stores, and it's perfect. I think the new model has some super glow at night capabilities! http://www.delmarwatchstore.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=46http://www.delmarwatchstore.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=

Sinner 13
I am a fan of pocket watches, but they are impractical. I have my grandfathers Bulova, special dress occasions it comes out. Rely on the cell 99 percent of the time.
retrosurfer1959
Hands gotta be hands in fact I really dislike digital watches big time in fact I don't even like watches that have batteries usually. I wear a watch all the Time usually a mechanical with autowind like My submariner or my newest favorite a Bell and Ross 001. The exception is I do have a tag golf model that I love because it weighs basically nothing. My grandfather always said that watches and shoes are the only accessories a lot of men wear so make them count quality and condition were important a good watch with good shoes that you keep polished. that used to be one of the definitions of a successful gentleman. So now the average young man use the phone to tell time or wear a disposable watches and tennis shoes so who knows?
NeoConMan
Hands. Seiko mostly. The one I usually wear is titanium, featherweight. Spoiled me for big, heavy watches.

Bender 4 Life
my timepiece was a 10th anniversary gift from my employer (it's now almost 16 yrs old) a gold Wittnauer Laureate.......with hands it doesn't light up, has no secondary dials, just gold dots for the numbers and a date roller. Simple, and elegant.
ChanMan
Seiko Kinetic. With hands.
WahKeen
Hands I never liked digital. They look too geeky (no offense to anyone). Besides, hands/nice watch says "classy" to me.
Tman5293
Well I use the digital clock on my cell phone but I also have hands that I use for other things like playing guitar. I feel kinda sorry for those of you that were born without hands. Tough life I bet.
daveinspain
I love watches and collected them until I discovered guitars...

I wonder why that is?

MrNylon
I agree with the Titanium watches as well. I'm down to 4 watches now. 3 Citizen Eco-Drive, and 1 Skaggen.

Tman, this guy popped in my head when you said that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSnUwA6c67k as for me I carry a pocket watch. A wrist watch to me just feels uncomfortable, especially when playing the guitar.
MrNylon
Good point about wearing a watch when playing. I don't wear one myself.
surfpup
I find the weight of a good heavy wristwatch adds a nice bit of sustain actually. It won't work with those new chambered wristwatches though.

surfpup
surfpup; what are chambered wristwatches? Sorry, my weak attempt at Gibson humor. Chambered guitars are disliked by some. Heavier guitarse have better tone according to some players.
MrNylon
No problem, some bass players , like myself are off on guitar lingo. They don't let us out much.
