ChatNoir
Is the Les Paul studio a light weight guitar? Does Gibson even make a Les Paul 5 lbs or less?
Timmy87
I've just tried a wine red studio, and it was very light, hope I helped a little anyways.
Yaff
I believe the lightest would be the Studio Worn Brown @ 6LB (as all mahogany, slimmer studio body & chambered) followed by a Custom Shop model, as they use lighter woods. But keep in mind, my 08 Standard weighs in at 9LB, some are as heavy as 10+ LB and others way as little as 8LB. They are all individuals, so if you want a light one, I suggest you try some out. Its pot luck with Gibson
Searcy
My chambered 97 Les Paul Studio DC is very light.
StijnV
The Les Paul Studio is not a light weight guitar, compared to SG's or Firebirds. Since 2007 all Les Pauls from the USA division are chambered, left alone a few exceptions. We did in the past make a Les Paul Studio Lite, with chromyte wood, in order also to take down the overall weight of the guitar. If we would compare this LP Studio Lite to a Les Paul Studio from nowadays I don't think that it would not differ a lot in weight however.
69 Son
My 09 LP Standard (chambered) is 7.9 lbs, I had an early 90's LP Studio that was over 10 lbs, so the weights can vary greatly. Nighthawks and Blueshawks come close to 5 lbs, IIRC.
tramber
I have a LP Studio Faded Mahogany that comes in just under 6.5 lbs. It seems that the FM's are generally light weight.
DMichaelG
My Les Paul 2010 Studio 50s Tribute weighs in at 7.23 lbs. (3.30 kgs.).

pippy
hi guys! i just want to know if this Gibson is legit.. the seller says its a Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite. It looks real from those snaps. You really would be better off starting a new thread for this, though. P.
LP_Studio_FTW
hi guys! i just want to know if this Gibson is legit.. the seller says its a Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite. Just like pippy said, a new thread could be useful, but... Since you've asked, well let's see. Body shape looks ok, inlays too, bridge looks like Nashville Tune-O-Matic so that's okay too. Now the strange part: look at the logo; the dot on "i" shouldn't be connected to "G" and the lines that connect letters are too big(letters are too far from each other) Oh, and one more thing...be sure to ask the seller to open the electronics boxes, both for Pickup switch and volume/tone knobs+pickup wiring to check authenticity of parts and the way pickups are wired(if sloppy it ain't Gibson). And if you get him/her to do it you'll most probably be able to make him/her open the pickups(pickup cavities aren't supposed to be painted, especially not black) Hope I've helped
BigKahune
. Those aren't the best pics - But from what I can see of them, it looks legit.
Baird6869
I just bought a 2008 Les Paul Standard goldtop and it weighs 7.5lbs. I also borrowed a new Traditional goldtop and was a noticably heavier 11.5lbs. My 2004 black Gibson Studio is approx 9.0lbs. This is bathroom scale, so I may be off a bit...
