Goldtop Flying V?

Has anyone ever seen a factory gold top on a Flying V? I saw one being played by a guy yesterday that was gorgeous, if it was a refinish it was 25+ years old. Sadly the guy playing it knew nothing about it he's only had it for a few years and the serial number was covered by a small metal plate with the name of a studio on it, some kind of a tracking asset number that looked like it had been added in 1979. looked like the tag was probably added to keep the instruments from walking off from the studio. it was an amazing guitar and sounded and looked great. Sadly the kid didn't want to sell it,since it was from his dad but he said he also had a Les Paul with the same tag (guess the tags didn't work for dear old dad) and the kid said he needed a better amp so if he decided to sell he'd give me a call in a week or two.
