Explorer balance problem

I love my new epiphone explorer, pu's have a little buzz but they are being replaced soon anyway. But my problem is the balance of the guitar, as soon as you let go of the neck it swoops down. I thought about relocating the strap nut but unsure if it is a wise thing to do. Any suggestions where to put it? I seen the thread about the strap that grips your shirt and I might try that but first want the see any suggestions on the where to relocate the nut.

Not knowing much about these, I just looked at some pictures to see where the stock points are. Not sure that there's too much you could do to improve the situation. Moving the neck pin towards the head would be the goal, but in order to do that, you'd have to reloate it to the base of the neck (like the 335, Casino, Riviera) and that will make your guitar feel like it's falling forward. Besides, I doubt you'd feel comfortable drilling a starter hole in the back of the neck of your new guitar! Mounting to the lower bout (horn) would get you even farther forward, but lower too, accentuating that falling forward feeling. If you have access to a rubber-ended squeeze clamp ($15-20 at Home Depot), you could try clamping your strap end at different spots to see if that inch or two helps and how it feels. Just keep a wary hand under the neck in case the clamp slips. For me, a strap that's constantly pulling on my shirt would drive me crazy. Hopefully, someone who has an Explorer has figured out a solution and jumps in here.

The bigsby is fantastic, I love it. The Graphtech bridge is crap though. The saddles travel a good 3mm back/forth when using the trem! [scared] And to think I went with stringsavers over rollers to avoid moving parts! [tongue]

In addition, I somehow (no idea how) managed to break the guitar in some way, that now it won't intonate, with any bridge or string gauge. So, sadly, it's just been sitting in the corner unused until I can figure out how to fix it... (Not a comment on Epiphone Explorers or guitars in general, I'm just a real tinkerer and something I did to it has thrown it way off. [tongue] )

But the Stetsbar should be awesome. [biggrin] I'd love to see pics of it when it's done. [thumbup]

I went ahead and moved the strap screw & nut and that did the trick, I will post pics of the finished product with the stetsbar but Im still paying for the guitar at zzounds and the stetsbar is expencive and not enough in my CC, so it will have to wait. I also have a cheap tele that I added a bigsby to, I like it but a few weeks after I did the mod I found out about stetsbar, wish I waited. I also didn't like the bridge that came with the bigbsy, ended up putting the original bridge back on and stringing the guitar through the holes in the metal treb pu plate. Takes away a little tremolo action from the bigsby, but thats ok cuz I dont use it much anyway. My explorer is the korina natch finish with the gold hardware,a little buzz in the pu's but I intend to upgrade that as well along with copper foil should fix that.

I consider it almost mandatory to use a roller bridge with a Bigsby along with a Tusq nut, this helps greatly to keep the guitar in tune.
