sneakerpimp
not that it really matters or affects performance, seems odd though. sample #1: http://cgi.ebay.com/Gibson-SG-Robot-RED-Metallic-/260719856702?pt=Guitar&hash=item3cb41d4c3e sample #2: http://in.ioffer.com/i/2008-gibson-sg-robot-limited-edition-w-ohsc-green-175902927?source=eisi from an aesthetics standpoint and in my opinion deeper bevels look better and give a more vintage look... the top of the line VOS models have the deepest bevels. Lungimsam
Here, here! I like deeper bevels, too. All the way down to the pguard on the lower horn, and so deep on the upper horn that it is pointier, like on the '61's. Sides as well. The more extreme the better. I don't know why Gibson ever went to shallow bevels in the late 60's, unless it is a $ thing labor-wise.
DestructorsKillMusic1982
I thought the bevels on the Robot looked nice, similar to the deep cut on the SG Diablos. I wasn't crazy about the really shallow cuts and the wide waist of some of the Norlin-era late 70s/early 80s SG's.
BigKahune
Deeper bevels - hell yes. Especially by the horns. And the point of the horns should not be so thick - a bit thinner would be better. Hopefully H-bomb with checkin on this one. B)
