stratslinger Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I've ordered a new Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior in CW and have been told there are some big delays in production. My dealer can't give a specific date (ordered in UK) and I just wondered if anyone knows how long I could wait?? (i'm excited and impatient). I would also like to confess that at the age of 38, I am not embarrassed at buying a green day signature guitar - it is a great guitar in its own right and the signature is discreet :) :) :)

stratslinger Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Just for fun you might care to peruse gordonsmithguitars V GordonSmith only up the road (I live in Chester). Nice guitars, but for some reason I can never get excited over them?? I'm looking forward to owning a Gibson again- last one was one of the original Gary Moore's - very silly boy letting that one go :( It was an absolute stunner too. I will report back when it finally arrives!
Guest BentonC Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Post some pics and let us know what you think when the new LP arrives- it should be well worth the wait!

I would feel like a sucker with that big stupid "JB" logo, but for the price it's looks like it should be a damn fine piece of wood. But I'd probably go for the BJA first- the leopard skin case is clutch. Except the p-100s turn me off. Never actually played them but I've heard some pretty bad stuff about them squealing and making crazy feed-back type of noises when you got em cranked. This is from a while back tho- maybe Gibson PU geometry has solved that problem by now?

I hate to say it, but I also dig the Jonas melody maker - that JB is just silly though (although my initials are JB so I could get away with it . . . . NO!!! stop it). If I had the cash, I would snap one up in addition to the BJA - I like the extra vesatility of a neck P90. The BJA has an H90 which is slightly different from the P100. It is a stacked humbucker (like the P100), but the second coil is a dummy, purely for hum cancelling, so retaining a more p90 sound.

(DOH, just read the CW...).

stratslinger Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 The wait was very short lived Today is NGD, but now begins the frustrating wait of looking at a gorgeously brand new Gibson case until it reaches room temp.
