Duende Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 What do ya'll think of the 50th annie bird? http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item3363b2cdc0 I haven't heard that model, how does it sound? Matt
tvguit Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Somebody fill me in as I am not as familiar with new Gibsons- do they use hide glue on all their tops? This one has it.
BigKahune Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Nice find. Don't care for the "50" inlay on the headstock.
Spot Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 What do ya'll think of the 50th annie bird? http://cgi.ebay.com/2010-Gibson-50th-Anniversary-1960-Hummingbird-MINT-SAVE-/220715994560?pt=Guitar&hash=item3363b2cdc0 Bit too much Bling for my taste. Saw one at SaM Ash in NYC last month but didn't get to play it....
gijs Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I love it's looks, except for the 50 inlay in de headstock, to me that's just silly. I would love to here the rosewood and KOA models, which I expect to differ significantly in sound compared to my MC Bird (sounds like a rapper ). The 'standard' 50th model is comparable to the TV I suppose?
J-1854Me Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I love it's looks, except for the 50 inlay in de headstock, to me that's just silly. I agree - I also don't like the goofy "50" inlay in the headstock. I liked the "Authentics" of a few years ago better in terms of visual. The price seems way high for what you get. Fred
Watchdogg Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 A 50 on the headstock and some case candy? Waaay to much unless there are some upgrades in wood not mentioned or other.
