EvilMonit013
I need some advice... Wondering if you guys can help me. I'm looking to sell my '74 Gibson ES335 w/ Walnut finish, and I'm not really sure what to ask for it. I love this guitar, but I'm not even slightly a vintage Gibson expert; even narrowing down the date took some digging. I'm about 98% sure it's a '74 model. I've been doing some researching and online comparing and the little info I can find, prices range from $3,000+ with some closer to $5,000... It's in great condition for it's age, plays great, sounds great and is in perfect working order... plug it in, and have some fun. There are a few nicks and scratches from age, and one slight bend on the 'G' string tuning peg... I'm also pretty sure the knobs aren't original. I've never repaired or replaced anything since I've had it, and it's only casually been played, so wear is light. I was thinking about $2,500 sounds more than fair, and maybe even a little low... I know it might take closer inspection to say for sure, but can anybody give me a second opinion? Am I even in the right ballpark? If it was you're guitar, what would be your asking price? Thanks, guys!
