Vintage Gibson- Possibly a Nick Lucas?Or L2?

Hi All

This guitar was bought in a second hand (general stuff) for a few hundred dollars about 10 years ago. I'm not a collector , as such, but I do have around a dozen various guitars I use in my recording studio. I have tried researching this to find out what it actually is, but I hit a dead end. So I'm tuning to you guys for help. I have attached pictures up to the 500k limit, and would be happy to send more direct if anybody wants any specific ones. Some more detail-

Number on neck block (inside in stamped ink where it joins the body) - 9669 (could be upside down as 6996!)

Number engraved at the very top of the headstock - 890 (or read upside down 068!)

The tuners are Grover Pat.

Maximum width- 14.75inches- (Does that point to more L2?)

12 frets clear of body. (Like the 1926 Nick Lucas?)

24.75 inch scale. (Like the 1929 Nick Lucas?)

Body depth (maximum) at the tail 4.25 inches (too thin for a Nick Lucas?). It becomes thinner as the body goes to the neck.

The top of the headstock has that little inversion at the peak. Like the Nick Lucas and not like the L2 (ones that I have seen anyway).

And a final downside. There is no label inside, and no sign there ever was one. Of course it could have been removed skillfully, but I doubt that.

But what is stunning in the light (stage lighting?) is the way the rhinestone on the headstock (I assume they are rhinestones!!) reflect and sparkle in the light. It must, whatever it is, have been a special made to order. I doubt we will ever know who it was made for.

Really grateful for any help that you can offer. My main reason for wanting to know what it is, is so that I can get it restored to its original spec by a qualified luthier.

Thanks in advance.

Petefs
