JThunderz
So basically I'm a complete noob when it comes to pedals...long story short I was in the market for a pedal so I researched the signal paths of some guitarists I admire to see how they got their tone, either on certain albums or specific songs. What seemed like the best (and most un-complicated) was guitar-OD1-amp. The things I read specified "vintage Boss OD-1". Simple enough. Start looking at CL and Ebay to research pricing and budget. This is where it gets complicated- One has a fuji-something chip, one has a texas instrument chip, one is this year, one is that specific year- What's the difference?!? Is one year or era qualitatively better than the others? How and why? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
cabba2203
Usually, if it says "Made In Japan" on the back with a BLACK label you'll be good as far as getting the better op-amp chips. Some "Japan" pedals have a Green label, still usually better than the "Made In Taiwan" ones but still may not have the original op-amp chip.
