Murph.....please don't over react.....I felt the same way when Martin came out with the Click & Clack guitar.....I don't even think these guys actually PLAY guitar.....so just because the Marketing Departments lays an egg, no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.......who knows, Billy Joel may be a virtuoso guitar player....???? Here he is playing rhythm guitar at one of his concerts.....

If he were, he'd be worthy of a sig. He's NOT.

A Billy Joel signature Steinway? Put two great honkin' pickguards on the Steinway and it becomes the Billy Joe signature model Steinway J-180 Everly Brothers/Billy Joel guitar/piano.

FWIW: Click and Clack do play bluegrass. The music starts at about 4:30 and is not bad, though hardly deserving of a signature model on the basis of musical ability.

I don't have any signature models in any brand and think the whole thing is a bit silly, except that I could see it making sense if you wanted a guitar that actually meets some special design features related to a particular player.

I think Leo Kottke had a signature model with Taylor? Or at least he played them for a while. BJA has developed quite a following with his little band Green Day. I think they've done okay with their musical careers. Good for him!! [thumbup]
