Reiska666
Just considering the choices for dobro pickup system for gigging use...I don`t want to drill any holes etc., so under my consideration are now few choices: Schatten NR-2 Pro K&K Pure Resonator BB K&K Meridian external mic Audio Technica Pro 35 Clip on mic...quite reasonable priced mic. DPA4099G external mic ...but this may goes far out of my budged range:( Gold Tone ABS system..I found this recently from reso nation topics...it looks versatile...any owners here? -my gig situations are mostly with guitar amp and PA...and the nearest natural sound is the goal i`m aiming for. -any experiences/recommendations are highly appreciated. -also other choices than mentioned above are welcome... Daryl M
I've never really been a fan of most of the internal pickups I've heard. The Audio Tech is a good choice.
Guest FarnsBarns
IMHO, the only way to amplify a Dobro is with a mic. This is quite interesting but more for recording than a live performance...
stein
I have heard a few guys around here that had good dobro sound, and it turned out they were the internal dobro one, pretty sure the k&k. Plugged into a guitar amp no less.
