HushUK Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hi guys, Brand new to the site. I wonder if any of you experts can identify the age of one of my beloved guitars. The Serial Number is 73659534, so I'm lead to believe it's a 1979 Les Paul Custom, but how do I know if it's the original neck and maybe the body is older or newer? Any help or thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

HushUK Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Hi, Cheers for the quick reply. I bought the guitar 10 years ago, but I know nothing else of its history. I checked a website for the serial number: Your guitar was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA December 31st, 1979 Production Number: 34 Wondered if there's a way of acurately dating the body, to make sure it's the original that matches the neck/serial. I've no real reason to believe it has been changed, but wanted to make sure. If I know it's all original I then want to know a rough value.
HushUK Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Hi Kroc, just noticed you're in Bedfordshire... I live in Dunstable. What a coincidence! Cheers, Malcolm
damian Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 It is not a Les Paul Custom.........................Perhaps a LP Standard Gold Top.........
