EuroAussie Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 As some of you know Ive put an acoustic covers band in the last few months called DoubleShot. During this time Ive posted several tracks we recorded and I genuinely appreciated your support, encouragement and also constructive criticsm and suggestions how to make our sound better. Well I'm really happy to say that after 3 months of gigging we just were hired to be the resident Friday night band at the Hard Rock Cafe Prague. This is a big deal as its the premier live venue in Prague, and the biggest Hard Rock in Europe, hence to also get the Friday night is a dream, a bit of a blur actually. You guys helped out a LOT and i just wanted to really say thanks for everything. I will be playing the Songwriter with great pride and might even wear my Gibson t-shirt now and then ! Here's a link to what we play and if you ever visit Prague make sure you let me know and stop over at the Hard Rock on a Friday nite ! http://www.reverbnation.com/taylorprague cheers. Mark

Actually this will be our 2nd gig there. We did our first try out previous Friday and it seemed to have donw well enough to get a regular spot. There are some pics from the show in the 'your acoustic performances' section. We perform next on Feb 4th and then every Friday. They are good people at the hard rock and this company is opening cafe all over europe, maybe we will do a little hard rock care tour ...lol ... hmm, ...actually thats not a bad idea !

EuroAussie Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Thank you very much Wiley, great venue indeed and good people to deal with ! We already played one show and our set up was basically like this. I plugged my SWD into my Fishman Aura spectrum DI which directly into the house board. Around 25% room reverb and i stayed like this for the evening. Had a monitor set up so i hear about 60% myself and 40% our 2nd guitar player (Luis). Had some feedback issue initially with low E but sorted it out with the Aura feedback stomper. Luis had a Furch jumbo with a fishman matrix infity plugged into a Boss GE7 graphis equaliser and then into the house board. For vocals our singer used an SM58 mike, with some reverb and i used a SM57beta a with some reverb. Thats pretty much in, raw and simple, minimal effects ... lots of sweat ! Congradulations....great venue......let us know how you two set up, mics, pre-amps, amps, guitars, etc.....and post some vids when you get them.....congradulations again!!!
