Last year bought and waited 3 months for a ES-339, Now I'm waiting for a LAG (French) 12 string Acoustic/Electric, Been 2 months since I ordered it. I was told a couple days ago it might be shipped in the next couple months to the U.S.. So I'll just wait. [thumbup]

Kimba...

Your Washburn reminds me of one I swapped last summer for an Epi Dot. Bad frets (cut my hand, literally), too-fat neck and overall I just couldn't bond with the thing. The Dot seemed to half play itself.

Beyond that... <grin> we won't go there. This year I got more music stuff than since the 70s when I played for money a lot.

Just got my Fender Sonoran for Christmas. The guitar before that was my Ibanez classical that I got in August of 2010. Before that was my SG in April of 2010. Got my Schecter sometime around September of 2009. Can't remember dates for guitar purchases before that. I think there were 4 before that that I can't remember.

At present I aspire to a state of equilibrium...

1 out 1 in etc

Except in this case 5 out 5 in

Because I'm worth it...

A splurge to clear out stuff I never play

Out...3 Peerless, lovely to look at but unsatisfying to play

Out...2 low end Ibanez semis for similar reasons

In...Fender Mustang, small guitar huge sound

In...Ric 330, gorgeous and historic in every way

In...Deusenberg CC semi, the best 'Bigsby' one could imagine

In...Gordon Smith DC Les Paul

In...Gordon Smith SG Natural

My guilt has been partially assuaged by giving one of the Peerless to charity...somebody will drop lucky

:-({|= V

PS Gordon Smiths last Thursday....the others over the last 4-5 weeks [crying]

Fender American Mahogany Special Strat about 18 months after my Gibson Les Paul Standard.

I've been clean ever since.

Hey Chan, is that the Cherry red Mahogany Strat with the metal nut with rollers and coil tap in the volume and tone knobs? I almost bought one of those and still may...

and that covers just about every type of musical need with the exception of shredding but you can still get there on a Strat if she's properly equipped with the right pickups...;)

My last purchase was a new ES-339, October, 2010

The one before that was a new VOS R0 in April, 2010

I also added a Robot LP in October, 2009.

My goal now is to add only one per year.

I've put out about $12,000 in gear in the last 15 months. Time for a bit of a breather.

Apparently we need new flooring in the house.

My most recent guitar purchase is a Parker DragonFly.

I absolutely love it, and it will probably be my gigging guitar for many years to come.

I think it's been about 2-3 years since I modded an old ESP that I had lying around to gig with. It was a great guitar for the price, and after the pickup transplant it was a great sounding guitar. The main problem for me was that it was too heavy.

My new Parker DF weighs only about 5 pounds, but it sustains like a heavier guitar. It has the Duncan pickups that many SSH Strat players trade their stock pickups for. It also has a Fishman so it can sound like an acoustic flat top. As if that wasn't enough it has a 14" radius ebony fretboard, stainless steel frets, and Sperzel locking tuners. I've had it since last November, and the honeymoon isn't over yet.

After some experimentation, starting with my Gibson ES-330, Kramer/Focus/Faux-Strat, Epiphone Casino, and modded ESP I finally found the gigging guitar that fits me perfectly. I don't think I'll be gassing for another gigging guitar for years to come (I'm not promising though <grin>).
