vourot Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Since I'm on a Doobie kick... Great song. Also a great reason to get a mic so I can try and record my AJ with this. Anyway, I had to share. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAwswPOWbA0
Gilliangirl Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Whoa that brings back memories. One of the things I love about 'yesteryear recordings' is that they didn't try to polish the recording to perfection. So, when the guitar player's fingers squeaked while changing barre chords, you could hear it in the recording. This has that! I love string squeak. Anyway, have fun with your recording experiments vourot!
The G Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Great record. Sure brings back memories. Toulouse Street was the first piece of vinyl I played on my very first good Stereo I bought with money from a summer student job in 1972. Still sounds good today.
vourot Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 It does hold up very well. String squeak, thats probably one of the reasons that I like these songs too. I remember all of these bands when I was a wee one growing up in the 70's. My sister bought a lot of really cool albums that I would listen to ( I was very careful not to scratch the records ). Steely Dan, Chicago , Elton John, Supertramp. My brother had all the Aerosmith, Deep purple, Stones etc... So many good bands back then.. There are good bands now of course, but there sure arn't as many it seems. Seemed to be more raw talent before.
