Andy R Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Any of you guys know the layer thickness on the pancake bodies like the origin Rhoads custom. Was it mahogany, maple, mahogany and a 3 piece mahogany neck? I am interested in the thickness of the body pancake layers if anyone knows please share! Thanks in advance. Regards, Andy
BigKahune Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Don't have much except - - - yeah, it was mahogany-maple-mahogany. Started in early 69, but the thin layer of maple was closer to the top. By late 69, the maple layer was centered in between the mahogany layers. Not sure how long the pancakes were made - maybe early 77? . . .

Is the Mahogany back a solid piece or is it 2 or 3 pieces? Thanks for the help! Andy
BigKahune Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 . I had one that I sold back in the 80s. Actually a nice guitar. Yes, about 1/8. Some were just two one piece layers. But some were three and four pieces (4 meaning each layer was a two piece).
