Birki
LOL...Nice, but hard to see the actual color, and grain, in that minimal and "warm" light. We love our "Guitar Porn," here. ... but minimal and warm light are inevitable ingridients, at least for vintage porn!!! well ... that is the best i could get. it is a darkback, with a maple fretboard, and she sings soooo sweet through a marshall :D yours wolfi
morningafterrecords
I have a worn ebony 60's tribute. It is my first gibson and I can't put it down. Plays great with no issues. There was a bit of a string buzz with the G-string but needed only a quick adjustment when I got her home. The p90 sound through a all-tube marshall just screams rock 'n roll and I cant get enough of IT!! Enjoy!!

darth_flanger
Howdy folks, I scoured the net for some decent info on this guitar, without doubt the best site on the subject of the tribute studio is here. As a result of this site I picked up a gold top dark back 60's neck, bought sight unseen and unplayed by me - something I generally never do with guitars. I got it from guitar village in Farnham (England). I love this guitar, it came well set up and a breeze to play straight out of the box. I love the baked maple neck. I already have a wine red standard. imo the baked maple bends well easy. It appears in Europe you can not get any other gt tribute apart from the dark back, I would have preferred the natural finish, but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the guitar. I reckon mine is made from at least three pieces of mahogany, maybe as many as five, but again excellent tone with very little work. I'd say this axe represent excellent value for the cash, it's the sort of guitar that inspires you to play. Laid down a few strings tracks the day I got it, a little bass, a few drum loops and a whole lot of slow, tone rich, breaks later and it's already worth the money - lovely tone. Thanks to you all for the info and pics! Obligatory proof pic:
