strat-o-steve
Buy a Les Paul Studio......a gloss finish model ( not the faded ). The LP studio has the same body wood and pickups as a LP Custom. You can score one of these used for around $900 in great shape, or buy one new for about $1400. The Alpine White models have an ebony fretboard.....just like a genuine LP Custom ! :)
gtrplayr1976
Jrs ,and Specials are a different animal altogether . As all said ..as far as Studios , the ones with ebony board would be closest , but IMO..still not a custom . Find an Edwards custom for about the same price as a Gibson...if you can't afford a Gibson. Good luck !
DiamondJig
the studio is not the exact same body as a custom, the bodies are not as thick, the maple cap is not as thick
strat-o-steve
Yea, but the studio is the CLOSEST guitar to the custom......and much cheaper! It is still the same wood combination and pickups.
