Wow, what a lovely break, right across the nut rebate. Are you going to have it refinished too and how much are you being charged for the fix?

I have to talk to the man, he knows it's on the way. I got this guitar for practically nothing. I think the repair, totally concealed will be about $150-$200.

Seems a pretty reasonable cost, all going well, you'll end up with a great guitar at a good price, good luck with it.

That's about the cleanest break you could hope for, and lots of area to glue, so should turn out well.

The glue joint will be stronger than the wood, so unlikely to ever break again in that location I would guess.

Thanks. It wont be repaired for a while. I have my old Japanese double cut archtop guitar there now having fret work done. I have to pay him for that before I start in on this. I sent him pics, he said it will look like new when completed.

Here is a link to the local luthier that is doing the work. His work is outstanding.

That's an easy fix, do it yourself!

I have done repairs myself on a couple of cracked headstocks, but they weren't totally broken off like this one. I'll let my local luthier, the "Guitar Doctor" (Doc) work on this one this time. I don't have all the clamps, glue and varnish needed to do the job properly, he does and I want it to look perfect, which I'm sure it will after he is done.
