Dub-T-123 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I love California rolls. So tasty. Too bad the good sushi places are usually really expensive.
retrosurfer1959 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Not since I got old enough to drive. I was born in Lompoc and grew up in Santa Barbara and then Los Angeles and couldn't freaking wait to leave, I don't even like to vacation in California.
Dub-T-123 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Dude I just realized this thread isn't about sushi
damian Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray....
Silenced Fred Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Dude I just realized this thread isn't about sushi   You made it about sushi though, so it works  Unless I'm making millions, I'd like to stay in the Midwest
Goldenone Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Near the Capital. Heck I used to work across the street. I'm retired now and my wife is just finishing her teaching credential program. When she is finished we are thinking if getting out of here, where we don't know yet. I like it here but it is to expensive, however I do get to play golf in the middle of winter. Â David
grampa Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I'm 64, I was born here and expect that I will die here. I am indeed a Californua Man.
EvanPC Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Not from California, but just returned from my first trip there. Work related jaunt to the LA area. Â Unfortunately, I didn't get out to see too much but I did take notice to the Gibson Guitar Lounge in the Santa Ana airport. Should have snapped some photos...

FirstMeasure Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 6700 feet above and 100 miles East of the Coast. Snow, Sun, Lake, Hiking, and packed with good musicians. No really, Big Bear has an unusual amount of good pickers for such a small place.
Dub-T-123 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I've been to Big Bear many times. Nice place
FirstMeasure Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Thanks Dub-T! Winter or summer? It's a very different place depending on the season.
FirstMeasure Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Winter is our big season, but summers are my favorite. More outdoor music .
Dub-T-123 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Yeah most of my friends head up there at least once a year for some snow. Â The best time I've had up there was during summertime but I love playing around in the snow up there in the winter. Since I don't have to live there and deal with the inconviniences of having snow it's a little different for me. It's beautiful any time of year though. Â I actually haven't been to the mountains in a couple years. I'm overdue.
FirstMeasure Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 After growing up in the Snow I still like it, but I haven't played in it for some time. I haven't even Skied in a few yeas. I still like the mountains after a fresh snow fall, nothing more beautiful!

You know they say there's gold in them hills.
Tman Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I thought it was about the imitation crab roll too. I won't live anywhere else again, ever. Not a snob, just found happiness. Here's a few days ago, just like today except today a bit cooler, about 60: Â Edit; Took a pay cut to come back PLUS and a big plus, taxes here are so much worse than Oregon or Washington where i lived recently after the Bay area. Still love it though, completely.
Dub-T-123 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Yep. I love California. I'm very glad to live here.
Shnate McDuanus Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I have nothing to do with the fine state of California. I just want to be cool.
Californiaman Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Tman, do you live in south Santa Barbara? Or is that a picture of Goleta?
