gregsguitardotnet Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 FON 27XX followed by what appears either "1 1" or an "H" in red pencil, the Gibson and Banner appear to be decals or transprent stickers, I know it is an older LOO ,just wondering what Gibson used decal wise in the war era guitars
Gilliangirl Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hmmmm, not sure. I thought this thread was about a piece of nice fancy fabric draped tastefully over a toilet. But this post will bump you back up!
rar Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 This is a fake.... Why do you think that? Looks pretty consistent with a '43-ish L-00 to me. -- Bob R
gregsguitardotnet Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 You are correct it is Late 1942 , after considerable research and looking through all my books as well as conferring with other dealers this was established. Thanks to the emails from reliable and educated members that helped in this determination, I thought it was possible that the heastock was "re stickered" at some point but in fact it is original from Gibson. Proof that ya never know everything about these wonderful instruments.
