Searcy
I'm a big fan of Paul Gilbert but to me the king of shred has to be Martone.

Shnate McDuanus
I'm inclined to agree with dem00n. On that note, I've never been as attracted to MAB's phrasing as I am to Gilbert's. But MAB is good too.

FirstMeasure
Paul's playing has so much more Personality! But in all fairness, it's hard to compare. I've seen what Paul Gilbert can do Live, specially with a Bass Player like Billy Sheehan to bounce off of. I've only heard this one Youtube Video of this other guy. MojoRedFoot
Oh Man!! Three weeks is a long time. I just remembered, he used a Glow in the Dark PGM when I saw him. Sucks cuz I had a dream aboot it last night. I went to Sam Ash to tell them to get the one from the other staore and found out it was sold. So they would have to special order 1 of the 3 left directly from Ibanez. I would need to pay 50% to have that done. I am gonna explore one more option tomorrow (to try and pay a lil less than the $2k for it) then come 2/25 pull the trigger for sure one way or another. Shnate McDuanus
Sorry to hear that Mojo--although, when you think about it, the wait might just make it much sweeter when you actually get it! I want one of those hot pink Ibanezes like the one Paul used in Intense Rock Volume 1.

Duende
I am stuck, it is like choosing the best actor out of The Rock and Jean Claude Van Damne, a tough one Matt
rjay777
They're both amazing shredders. I prefer Gilbert's style though.
krock
When I looked at the subject title in the lounge I thought to myself it has to be either M.A.B or Gilbert. Just shows great minds think alike M.A.B is known as the fastest player. But tbh I think Gilbert plays better and is more original eg his latest albums havent just been cover songs. Gilbert is probably more down to earth aswell and comes across as a nice guy. Thats probs why he's my fav guitar player out of everyone.
