jtoney72
My Grandfather used to be a Police Officer and in the early to mid 60's a youngman was trying to get to Virginia Beach and asked my Grandfather if he wanted to buy his guitar. For $100, my Grandfather purchased the guitar in it's original case. I am trying to identify the exact year and potential worth of this Melody Maker. It has 4 volume/tone knobs and a wammy bar/tremolo. It has the Melody Maker name on the top of the headstock. The oly numbers that I could locate are on the back of the headstock that read 249312. What do these numbers represent? And, how would they possibly help me identify this guitars origin?
dem00n
The numbers in the back of the guitar are the production or serial Numbers, now if I'm correct from the number your guitar was made in 1964, I'm not %100 if thats the date. Maybe someone else can agree or disagree on that date. Is this what the guitar looks like? Maybe in a different color?
