onewilyfool
Here are some other great ones from CL: -"My loss is your gain"....lol often seen on overpriced used guitars -"My luthier told me this guitar is in great shape....OR is worth xxxx$'s...well then HE should buy it. -"Must sell!" then the seller lists a beat guitar at OVER list price of a new one.... -"Lists for $4999! I will let it go for $4K".......quoting list price for a SALE is comical for me -"Musicians Friend has this for sale for $2499!! I will sell it to you for $2K!!" Of course one line dealers are only allowed to advertise MAP (minimum advertised price)....very insincere ad when I see this -"RARE!" I don't know how a standard Martin D-28 can be rare.....or a Korean guitar where a million units sold...but this is CL...(ebay is worse) -"Vintage!"...apparently on CL, vintage means: before 2000 -"Price is firm!".....Usually price is NEVER firm....price is what the market will bear. I've seen CL ads on line for 6 mos. with this "price is firm" tag.....6 mos on CL SHOULD be a wake up call that your guitar will NOT move at that price -"Mint!" except for minor top blemishes, crack on the side, ding in the back of the neck (right where you put you hand for fretting...lol)some buckle rash, but otherwise MINT! -"lots of MOJO!"...wear from playing is MOJO, dragging a guitar behind your car, dog biting the headstock, bad care, etc., is NOT mojo...IMHO -"This is the BEST guitar I've ever played!!!", then....I'm selling this guitar to finance a new guitar purchase....lol -"Gibson Epiphone"...just a peeve of mine Epiphone is NOT a Gibson, epiphone is OWNED by Gibson....it's just like saying your Chevy is the same as a Cadillac, because both are owned by GM. Same with Martin Sigma guitars.... -"new strings"....lol this clearly justifies you selling your used guitar for the list price of a new one (covered in other posts) -"good as a Gibson(or Martin, etc,) Riiiiiight, your "Lawsuit" Tak, with laminate back sides and top, is NOT as good as a Martin. In General...I find that Martin and Gibson sellers try to sell their guitars at MAP or over, even when you can buy their guitars NEW with warranty, free shipping etc, cheaper on line....just an observation....lol PLEASE...add your favorites!!! onewilyfool
GG.....here's one for you! http://farm1.static.flickr.com/121/278625791_04107a45f2.jpg Perfect Craig's list ad!! Offered for your playing pleasure!!!!! !950 Martin Classical guitar!!! I am saddened that I must sell this guitar at this time, but financial conditions force me to. My Luthier and several local music store have appraised this guitar at over $10,000, but I am willing to let it go for only $9999!!! I've been told by my guitar playing buddy, that this guitar is extreemly rare and vintage guitars like these are not being made anymore. My sister says she really likes it, so chicks dig it, too. This guitar is virtually in MINT condition, save for some minor scuffs, cracks, dings and gouges, that don't show up on photos, if you don't look that hard. Note, that none of this damage affects the playability of the guitar. I think that anyone looking at the photo of this guitar, will just see how it oozes "Mojo" (except for the damage done by my dog, all the mojo of this guitar was inflicted by me! Wear is typical for a guitar of this age. This guitar was kept in a non-smoking home and kept at a constant 70 degrees temperature and 50% constant humidity. It has rarely been out of it's case. Maybe 20 hours in all playing time on it. May I say, this is one of the BEST guitars I've ever played, and if I wasn't getting another guitar, I would NEVER sell it!!! Although this is the "Sigma" version of the original Martin model, it is STILL a Martin.....right??? I have just set this guitar up by myself, and if you pay the asking price I will keep the new strings on her! Action is a bit high (1/4" on E strings_ perfect for hard strumming or bluegrass work!) and although there is hardly any saddle left, I think you can agree with me when I say, this just adds to the MOJO! This guitar will NOT last long at this price, so better act fast!!! Remember, this is a must sell item so the price is firm!!! Lowballers will be ignored.
