Versatile
Thanks for a great post Matt... I cannot believe how creative and vibrant John McLaughlin is to this day....his recent albums are so exciting, complex and rhythmic Truly 'World Music'.... And a tribute to Miles Davis who virtually invented jazz/rock in the late 60's, and had that 'talent scout' instinct to gather the cream of musicians around him Personal favourites, John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield, Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans..... 57classic
What a player! Certainly one of the world's greatest guitarists but England can proudly claim him as a native son. Music would be much different if he had never made the scene, his influence will still be felt long after he is gone.

daveinspain
Birds of Fire...! My all time favorite. I kind of lost track of what John has been up to. Thanks for reminding me Matt, I'm gonna look for some of his new stuff now... Cheers
