R8 Tuning Problems

I bought a used 2006 R8 about a year ago and I'm having trouble keeping this baby in tune...very frustrating. This is my 4th Les Paul and have never had a problem like this before. Are the vintage tulip tuners adequate? I have used abravise cord to remove any possible burs from the nut and bridge saddles and applied guitar grease to the nut. It doesn't appear to be just one string/tuner going out of tune, but especially the top 3 strings from the bends. Anyone else have this problem? What are my options? Replace the tuners? I hate to modify this guitar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it seems likes 99% of tuning issues lies within the nut. i personally have never had any issues with the Kluson tuners; I replaced my R9s with Pat Pending Grovers strictly for aesthetic reasons. But it sounds like you've tried the usual fixes, so it could be the tuners.
