tc rocker
I have a 2006 gibson les paul standard LE santa fe sunrise. And I've tried many metal polishes & nothing cleans the crud on the pickup cover? Any help??????? Not sure if it's oxidation or what?
StijnV
It must be nickel hardware, which tarnishes very fast. There's not much you can do about it. You could use the metal cleaner from the vintage reissue restoration kit: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Divisions/Gibson%20Gear/Accessories/Instrument%20Care%20Products/
tc rocker
Maybe I'll just take the covers off? Hope the pickups are cream colored.

Yes, that's the mojo workin' and you can't polish mojo off of a guitar! Maybe I'll just take the covers off? Hope the pickups are cream colored. I doubt that your pups are cream colored. LPguitarman
I doubt that your pups are cream colored. +1 they usually are black under the covers. Advice for the OP: try some Maguires on the covers. You can get it at any autoparts store.
