SC56Gibson
What is the best way to replace the tuning key knobs on a vintage 56 Gibson without affecting the value , The last time I checked at a music store they have a complete set of keys for about $120 . The Keys are fine just the knobs have deteriorated over the years , This Guitar got played a lot and still plays nice today just can't tune it . If Anyone has gone through this process before some tips on the right way to do this would help in keeping this guitar in its original condition. ryanfender
You can order buttons made by Willi Henkes in Germany through Elderly Instruments. They are the most historically accurate and best looking buttons on the market. Easy to install as well. I used many on my 57 LG-1, work great. They don't have the ugly seam that many other cheaper buttons have and they are the correct color. Most other buttons are stark white. Heres a link and video of the installation. http://www.elderly.com/accessories/items/AAB1-CREAM.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcXZ8Q5Cij8
