Ewheel
I have been studying the Limited Edition John Lennon Casinos and have a question I hope someone can answer. On the limited edition card located inside the lower f-hole, I notice some are numbered with an "A" prefix - for example, "A-987 of 1,965". Others are numbered without any prefix. Does anyone know why this was done?
bobouz
A guess here: The "assembled in USA" versions were originally supposed to be limited to a run of 1965 instruments. They kept producing these for many years, and most likely exceeded that total (but numbered the first 1965 built).
frenchie1281734003
At least three people wrote out those serial numbers, one of which was in the habit of putting an "A" in front of the number. I have also seen one which has a "O" with an "/" through it, in front of the number too! Steve.
