decker695
How much do you guys think it will cost to have a Gibson les paul studio faded sent to memphis to get a jeff-beck like oxblood finish, along with bindings?
Tim Plains
Far more than the guitar is worth. Why don't you just find a local luthier to do that for you?
dponzi
I brought my faded studio to the local Luther and I asked him what it would cost to paint it gloss black, he told me $500.00, then I asked about just the top and he said $300.00. Then he went into a little rant, not directed at me BTW, (I've spent thousands in his shop) about how many people he has coming in with these crappy satin and faded Gibson finishes and wanting him to put nice finishes on them. The reason they're so cheap is because there's a lot of work putting bindings on and nice finishes. Like R9 said, It will cost way more than the guitar is worth.
