hudsonsaul
Anyone know what the differences between the 335 59 Dot Reissues and the 335 Dot Figured Gloss are?.....and the other 335 by Custom Shop (forget the name) for that matter? Are the differences just cosmetics and the fact the 59 reissue is limited, or is there more to it between each 335 they make? thanks
hudsonsaul
was this a dumb question?....the specs for the 335's on gibson.com don't really tell you much.
BillyGibson
I'm looking a 335 styles now too. Most likely used. What I've mostly observed is: cosmetics - dots, blocks, finishes. Some may be p/u configuration. BUT, the thing I'm looking at is the neck profile - 50's neck or slim 60's neck. Most 335's seem to have the slimmer neck. I'd kind of like to find one with a beefier 50's neck.
bobouz
And of course tone can vary tremendously. When purchasing my 335 a few years ago, I was able to compare four side by side. One sounded rather muddy & dark. The other three were bright, punchy, & close in tone, but still different. The variations in playability were also significant. With my last three guitar purchases, I've been fortunate enough to compare at least three instruments side by side, and the differences can be astounding.
