van looy
Hi I recently acquired a lp jr special 2002 with stock p100 pups and am looking to replace these with Seymour Duncan p90s. Having never modded a guitar before I consulted the sites "tone wizard" which advised sp90-2 hot in the bridge position and a sp90-1 in the neck (mahogany body, rosewood fretboard). It would seem that the sp90-2 hot is a little shallow in depth for my guitar (0.585" compared to the 0.745" of the sp90-1). Would it make much difference if I just stick sp90-1's in both positions any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
CajunBlues
If I am not mistaken, Gibson has traditionally used (and still uses I think) the same P90 in both neck and bridge... So, to have the same pup in both would be fine, ... I personally like a 57 classic (neck version) in the bridge position... I am not a big fan of putting a hot pickup in the bridge... but that is just me...

phildobbin
I really like the Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. YMMV...
