EJ200 CE Pickups

Hi,

 

I have an beautiful Epiphone EJ200CE! I have a couple of problems, firstly It has 2 pickups, and i'm a little confused as to which to use.

I have read that you shouldnt use the MAG (neck pickup) on its own, only use it blended with the FLEX(body pickup)?

is this true?

I have also read that the flex is already a blend of the 2 pickups? is this also true.

 

So which single pickup should i use (as other elct acoustics)

Or if i use both, does this mean i have to use a lead from both (perhaps a silly question).

 

problem 2 is, the flex in body pickup has stopped working!, only the nanomag on the neck is working?

Could this be electrics or the pickup itself or both perhaps.

The nanomag that is working is a little glitchy too and seems to somewhat 'spike' or distort if i play it harder through a PA that i have previously had no problems?

 

All help is greatly appreciated, I love my guitar and Epiphone and just wanna get the best sound possible from it.
