bobrollar Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 So I have noticed there are a few people here from Arizona, I have been wanting to go to the Musical Instrument Museum up in north Phoenix/Scottsdale. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone here has gone to it and what they thought of it. Right now they have Lennon's original upright piano he wrote a lot of material on as well as a boat load of other cool stuff. Check out the site. The MIM
retrosurfer1959 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Haven't made it there yet - keep planning on it but never seem to get there.
L5Larry Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I saw something recently about the MIM on PBS. That seems to be where "Brownie" resides (Clapton's sunburst Strat the he used on Layla). Besides Duane Allman's flametop LP (which is in the R&R Hall Of Fame in Cleveland), Brownie is the ultimate celebrity guitar to me. The press made such a big deal when Clapton auctioned off Blackie, I always wondered what happened to Brownie.
bobrollar Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 So I finally made it up there...check link for pics.....it was an awesome place and something that has to be seen more than once. The MIM Pictures
