cookieman15061 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 The problem with selling now is its a buyers market so if you really need to sell you're gonna take a pretty good hit. That being said, I've seen some terrific prices for used Gibson and Fenders on CL. If you are financially sound its a great time to buy.
milod Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 My first thought was that it should be in a museum. http://orgs.usd.edu/nmm/ I did a number of news stories on the museum cited above when it was established, years ago. They have some great guitars in the collection as well as about anything else you might imagine - and hidden away in little Vermillion, South Dakota, USA, at the University of South Dakota. m
Californiaman Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I couldn't part with those either. No way. Maybe if by some horrible happenstance my hands were removed from my arms. But even then, I don't know if I could part with them.
milod Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I just had an email exchange with the music museum staff. They'd love to have somebody donate the Martin, especially. They have quite a few Gibsons too... The lady there said nowadays they have to rely more on donations, but they'd love this one. m
