swleary
Debating to pull the trigger are some new knobs . Question is, the traditionals have short shafts right?
Tim Plains
Long but that should have nothing to do with the knobs.

Mark
I bought 2 sets of reflectors for my 335. Genuine Gibson parts but they had a sloppy fit and one fell off They are on but with a little help from a small amount of glue, I hope I never have to change the pots!!! IMOP Reflectors are the way to go for a vintage look.
Tim Plains
ahhh ok, I always thought I had to specify if they were short or long shaft lol...ok thank you Tim... If you're upgrading your pots with, say, an RS kit, then yes, it matters if you get short or long shaft pots but all you're doing is pulling off the speed knobs and putting on reflectors. Check eBay. I bought mine for around $10. Before you go starting another thread on how to pull your knobs off, use a string, shoe lace, or thin cloth. I use a J cloth. Place it under the knob, (maybe) hold the guitar down, lift and the knob comes off. See how nice I am? You burned me when I broke my Stinger and here I am helping you. swleary
Thanks everyone for the replies. Now I know lol. Stil trying to figure out if I want reflectors or top hats with pointers. Might also do a pot upgrade (not the illegal pot either) .

Ya Tim you are always nice, didn't mean to burn you, just tried to put some humor into an already heart breaking thing. Oh and ya I know how to take knobs off, mind you I could put a poll up and be like Fred..just sayin.
L5Larry
Here's a pic of my LP with reflectors (no pointers) if it is of any help. My 345 has reflectors AND pointers. Looks pretty cool until you run one of the pointers under your fingernail.
swleary
Sweet, ya that helps me to visualize it abit better now..Pointers don't scare me, I have my first aid certification :)
Tim Plains
Now it does matter if you have short/long shafts. Some pointers won't fit on long shaft pots. If you buy a set off eBay, either read all the details or ask the seller. I think the Stewmac's pointers will fit.
