phred
since the manual that came with my new nighthawk is less than specific, where can i find out all the specs? i looked at the website and they have some info, but the one thing i also like to know is what size strings they are using. if anybody knows, that would be great

bigneil
It has the same scale length as a fender. On that basis, i would probably string it up with 9s regardless cause 10s on a 25.5" scale are gonna feel pretty darn stiff. unless of course that is what you prefer. T17
Gibson's webpage on the Nighthawk includes a Specs tab, which shows ".010 - .046, Swedish steel "hex" core". Thomastik-Infeld came to mind, but they're Austrian. Here's the link: http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Designer/Epiphone/Nighthawk-Custom-Reissue/Specs.aspx See the "Hardware" section of that page. I've had my Nighthawk Fireburst for a week and it's a gem.
