MNash87
Quick question - Where do you guys prefer your strap button to be placed? On the top horn or on the back behind the neck?

Hydra26
Whichever balances the guitar better. Agree here. And the best balance point is going to depend on what shape the guitar is and what to some extent how dense the neck and body woods are in relation to each other (I've heard of SG's for example, from the same year where some balance nicely and others dive like a stuka). Aside form what Brundaddy said, there's no single all-applicable answer. Which means I just wasted like 3 sentences. Oh well, sometimes I like to see myself talk. I admit it. MNash87
Sorry guys, the question was meant for the Explorer, I forgot to mention that, lol. Where do you prefer it on the Explorer, on the back or on the top horn? Just curious, thinking about moving mine to the horn.

Never had any issues whatsoever with the modern factory location on the back at the heel. makes for a good balance point. I don't own any where they came installed on the top like an epi and if it ain't broke don't fix it, so i dunno, haha.
