Tuners

I saw in one of the post here someone was looking at replacing their tuners and showed some pics of options. One of them was the Grover Sta-Tites.

What the opinion on them?

Good? Bad?

I have Sperzel locking tuners on my Standard and I LOVE them. I want the Grover Sta-Tites as an option for my SG Goddess if possible, if I get response that they are worth it. The Goddess is FOREVER going out of tune.

Jen,

I've only experienced the Rotomatics, and for non-locking machines they are stellar. I used to play a lot of metal on non-Floyd guitars equipped with G. R's and rarely did I have to stop to fine tune. These are reliable and inexpensive.

Hope this is useful.

John

P.S. I received the white SG Standard. It hasn't gone to my tech for the aforementioned upgrades, but it's killer nevertheless. Pics when it's finished.

ANY Grover tuner is an upgrade, as far as I'm concerned. The only guitars that I own that don't have them are my Gretsch Malcolm Young model (it has Sperzels) and my Historic SG (which is awaiting a set of the Tone Pros Klusons to keep it looking stock but will improve the stability). But all my Epiphone SG's as well as my Angus signature and my '61 RI w/Maestro all have Grovers. Go for it!
