onewilyfool
I saw him here in N. Cal. at a place called the "Circle Star Theatre" about 20 years ago. Johnny is gone and SO is the theatre. Nice place, everyone sat in a circle and the stage rotated continuously. So everyone had a good seat. He comes on stage, dressed in black with the guitar slung over his back, like he does, and said......"Hi, I'm Johnny Cash. ( wild applause) I know about 1000 songs by heart, and we're gonna sing some of them for you tonight!!!" Man, he was sooo cool. LOL....great show. Great performer. Todd Wilson
In anything, be it art, business, sport, etc...... there are only a handful that you can truly call the best at what they do. Cash was! There were better singers, better guitar players, and perhaps even more flamboyant country stars, but none were better than Johnny Cash. I'm not particularly fond of country music, but I have always liked Johnny Cash. His Folsom Prison Blues was the first song I learned to play. No, it doesn't seem like 5 years....
