Guitar Technique style effects tone as it ages

For years Ive for the most part have been a electic guitar player so here is a question Im tossing in the ring .

How if at all does playing style and technique effect the tone of a NEW guitar as it ages . I know a aging acoustic instrument sounds better with time but how does your playing style and your personal technique effect the sound of your guitar as it ages and not so very much as your playing at that very moment when first purchased new but as time goes on say in five or ten years down the road .

Does for instance two of the same exact sounding instruments one a finger pickers guitar vs a individual who for the most part just strums his instrument sound different with time . How about the two same guitars one played very much while the other does not get the playing time and just sits for the mosty.

Will one instrument become more mid range or brighter than another how about more balanced or have clarity from a pickers playing style more projection from a strummers guitar ?

Curious thought maybe folks here could address my question on this platform .

I suspect technique and style does have an effect on how a guitar sounds as it ages and opens-up. Type of wood, humidity, geographical location probably have their effects also. Lots of variables in it within my perspective. Perhaps the biggest variable is "our" ears and the sound we like. We all hear different things.

My uneducated layman's guess is that, all things being equal, the strummer's guitar will open up faster because the wood of the top is being moved more. By its very nature, strumming is just more aggressive than fingerstyle, generally speaking, and that aggression would translate into the top being made to vibrate more often and more robustly. I think that's part of the concept behind the ToneRite. But like I said, this is just an uneducated layman's guess.
