WOW Mick Jagger With A J 200

The J-200 shot could be from the Rock'n'roll Circus film. A late 68 thing that never saw the light of day back then. Guess Stones couldn't get satisfaction in the result. However it came out approx. 6 or 8 years ago and is worth watching. Go for the stills from that event ~

Its probably Ronnie's that was lying around ...?

Ronnie wasn't around by then Aussie (was jangling with the Faces). You are 2 guitarists ahead - remember Mick Taylor and Brian Jones. The latter, in fact the inventor of the band, , , but yes, it could have been his Jumbo.

A little Stones-lesson goes out to Prague this morning - 'ave a good day. . .

I never knew Mick could actually play :o

Yeah he plays , he uses hummingbirds mostly . I think he has quite a vintage gibson collection and some very nice Taylors =).

But seeing him with this J200 you blew me away . The Stones are it for me man . Not so much the beatles . But the stones are just the best band for me . And even though I'm A straight guy I must say Mick looked like a F****** greek god back in those days ....

Try Amazon, the edited updated edition might be around. And it's some golden ride – a teenage party that went on all night. Brand new Jethro Tull was there, The Who, Taj Mahal, Lennon and Yoko, Clapton, M. Faithfull and others. The show got delayed, which caused the main act and hosts – Rolling Stones themselves – to walk on very late. Don't know if they thought they looked tired or something, but the Circus just wasn't released. I saw it with some friends when it finally came out some years back and had a feast. Jones seems rather stoned, but Jagger is dangerously on fire and Keith enjoys zenith in the incarnation of a 1-eyed lion tamer. I love the corny set-up, the flamboyant costumes and everything there. As the fan you are, you will too – it's a GAS !

, , , and don't take the picture down !

As I recall it, he has some basic skills. A typical lead-singers whimsy-strum-touch, and enough know-how to write songs. Something tells me Mick never was a hard-core 6-string rehearser.

I've seen him swing the Hummingbird live while singing She's a Rainbow. A shimmering lime-coloured Carnaby-Street long jacket and that combo, is show enough for me -

I read Keith's book recently, and I think he says that Mick can play a bit, and he wrote the riff to Brown Sugar.

With rthe Stones & J200s, you can watch Godard's Sympathy for the Devil film, about the same time as Rock n Roll Circus, and see Brian baffled off in the corner with a J200 while they record Sympathy for the Devil - maybe its Brian's in the photo? But by the Mick could probasbly have just got his own. If anyone's managed to sit through the parts of the film that aren't he Stones in studio, congratulations, you must be in a group of one! The stones parts though, are pure gold.

ALso, isn't mick sitting on a bed wih a j200 on the cover of his recent mega-flop Goddess in the Doorway?

I thought his old bird was called Marianne...

Nice to hear Angie again, but the version of Sister Morphine on Sticky Fingers remains their real acoustic tour de force (and one of Ry Cooder's greatest moments too). The opening chords are truly stark. I think Keef really meant business when they recorded that. Even more than usual. Mick can't quite carry it off, HBird or no.

Regarding the Rock 'n Roll Circus movie: I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the Stones weren't happy with the results, when they actually saw the footage. One thing which supposedly pissed them off was that the performance by the Who was better than theirs.

I saw the movie once, and I thought the Who played better that night, although I am a huge Stones fan.

The Who always played 'better' than Stones. They were/are major musicians.

"I saw Stones as a bunch of half-amateur white guys trying to play black music which they really couldn't – but I guess it had some kind of appeal. . ."

Ginger Baker stated that in a television program a couple of years ago and as hyper pro he knew what he was saying. Stones could knock off some terrible gigs in the earlier days and in many ways had to fight to get it right - but still they were one of the best bands ever.
