saintzband
Can any one tell me what pups came stack on the '02 Gibson LP Standard Plus? I think the bridge is a 498t but I'm not certain. Thanks!
Tim Plains
I think they switched to Burstbucker Pro pickups for 2002 but some probably still came with 490/498s. If you take the pickups out of the guitar and look at the underside you'll know.

I just bought a '10 Traditional Pro and am thinking about changing out the Burstbucker 3 (bridge) to a 498t but want to be sure that this is the pup sound I want. Any opinions about a great classic rock souding pup?
Tim Plains
Pretty much any Gibson humbucker can cover rock. Gibson wise, I like Burstbuckers 1/2 and '57 Classics the most. If you're willing to buy aftermarket pickups, the sky's the limit because there are a lot of choices. Try googling "best PAF clone" and you'll get numerous threads on what people have tried/recommend. So far, I've only tried Throbak and Wolfetone pickups. Both are excellent.
